IMG_1498Comfort Foods, Sunday, May 19, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Fairfax Station, VA Put a healthy slant on foods that satisfy and de-stress.  Kid-friendly recipes will include some of  the  following: Nachos, Meatloaf/sliders, Shepherd’s Pie, Goulash, Yam Fries, Polenta Fries, Corn Dogs, Hush Puppies, Mac & Cheese, Roasted Vegetable Pizza, Chicken-free Noodle Soup w/ Beyond Meat, Chicken-free Nuggets, Winter Greens w/ Cashew Cream, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Nutty Noodles, Baked Ziti, Onion Rings, Homemade Ice Cream , Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate Mousse.

No meat, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy, or honey. $55/person; $100/two people; $50/VSDC, VRG, and COK members. Demonstration classes include recipes, organic food samples, manufacturers’ samples and coupons. Gift certificates available.

  1. This was a fantastic class, I literally went home and made the Chicken Soup. I find that on of the things that most vegans and vegetarians “miss” are the things that we have enjoyed since our childhood. Mimi did a fantastic job presenting food options that could satisfy the pickiest meat eater. One of my FAVORITE classes!
